Amouranth: The Cosplayer Who Built a Streaming Empire

Cosplayer, streamer, entrepreneur – and one of the most famous creators on the internet.

Few creators have turned internet attention into a business as deliberately as Amouranth. Born Kaitlyn Siragusa in Houston, Texas, she started out sewing cosplay costumes and ended up as one of the most-watched streamers in the world – with a portfolio of side businesses that reads more like an investor's than an influencer's.

Timeline

  1. 2015Twitch invites her to stream as a creator; she builds cosplay costumes live on camera.
  2. 2021Described as the most-watched female streamer on Twitch. In October she is banned from Twitch and TikTok at the same time.
  3. 2021–2022Buys a gas station leased to Circle K and launches an inflatable pool toy company.
  4. Oct 2022Tells viewers on stream that she has been married for years and describes a controlling relationship; days later says she has regained control of her finances.
  5. June 2023Signs a streaming deal with Kick.
  6. 2024Becomes co-owner of the esports organisation Wildcard Gaming.

Early years: a cosplayer with a sewing machine

Before the streams, the hot tubs and the headlines, Amouranth was a cosplayer. She made her own costumes and wore them at conventions and photo shoots, and that craft became her calling card. In 2015 Twitch invited her to join as a content creator, and her first broadcasts were exactly what you would expect from a costume maker: hours of cutting, gluing and fitting armour and wigs on camera.

That practical, workmanlike start explains a lot about her later career. She treated streaming like a job with shifts, schedules and output targets – and she was open about it.

Twitch fame, bans and the hot tub era

By 2021 Amouranth was widely described as the most-watched female streamer on Twitch. Her mix of dancing, ASMR and the so-called hot tub streams pulled huge audiences – and controversy. In May 2021 she said Twitch had cut her advertising revenue without explanation; it was later restored at a fraction of the earlier rate.

In October 2021 Twitch and TikTok banned her at the same time – it was reportedly her fifth TikTok ban. She returned, and the episode only made her name bigger. The Streamer Awards named her Best ASMR Streamer in 2021.

From streaming to adult platforms

Alongside Twitch, Amouranth built a large audience on subscription platforms including OnlyFans. In April 2022 she announced she planned to step back from OnlyFans to focus on streaming – yet she kept expanding in the adult-creator world, with promotional deals with Chaturbate (2022) and Jerkmate (2023), and an AVN Award for Favorite Creator Site Star in 2023.

In June 2023 she signed with Kick, the streaming platform that was paying large sums to attract big names from Twitch.

The business side: gas stations and pool toys

What really sets Amouranth apart is how she invested. She has publicly talked about buying a gas station that is leased to Circle K, launching an inflatable pool toy company, starting a matchmaking service that connects creators with personal assistants and, in 2024, becoming co-owner of the esports organisation Wildcard Gaming.

  • Real estate and a gas station as steady income
  • Physical products tied to her brand
  • Services for other creators
  • Esports ownership

For many creators she has become a case study in turning a short-lived spotlight into long-term assets.

Private life in public

In October 2022 she surprised viewers by saying on stream that she had been married for several years and described a relationship in which she felt controlled, including over her money. A few days later she said she was getting legal and emotional support and had regained access to her finances. It was a rare look at the pressure behind a seemingly perfect online career, and many fans and fellow streamers rallied around her.
